Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep
Okay! So having finished playing Birth by Sleep (without the secret movie, though; apparently it was cool to me playing Standard Mode and finish the game 100% to get to the secret movie. What was I thinking?), here are some of my impressions:
- I can’t deny it; I have a crush on Terra. It’s the Command Board and flashback scenes’ fault. Which brings me to —
- While my favourite characters are Terra and Aqua, I dislike their voices. Terra’s voice needs to be more expressive. Command Board and flashback scenes are okay, but the rest? Not so much. Aqua’s, meanwhile, needs to be more … animated, for lack of word. Also, I’ve always imagined Aqua’s voice to be something like the ocean: cool, fresh, windy. That’s why I prefer her Japanese VA over the other.
- Ven’s and Vanitas’s, though, are awesome. I’ve enjoyed theirs! Vanitas’s, especially. Smooth, deep, dark … very unlike Sora’s. That’s why I was surprised when I found out that they have the same VA.
- SPOCK WENT OVER TO THE DARK SIDE AND KILLED THE JOKE—ER, LUKE SKYWALKER.
- Terra is gullible.
- Ven is so adorable; I want to hug him.
- Aqua is now one of the top female badass characters in my book.
- Aqua has a nice body; so does Terra.
- I ship Terra/Aqua. I can’t help it.
- ZAAAAAAACCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKKK.
- I really wish SE would have included Squall and Cloud.
- Sora, Sora, Sora. In the end, it will always be you.
- In the secret movie (thank you, YouTube!), the part where various characters whisper Sora, I found that a bit of a narm. I’m sorry. The sora-as-name-sora-as-sky pun is lost in translation. But! The Ansem-and-Ienzo part! D’awwwww.
And now Square Enix is making me rage because Dream Drop Distance is for Nintendo 3DS god dammit.
